After graduating from The University of Otago, Sarah lived in Melbourne for six years, where she specialised in immigration law. She has worked on a range of visa applications across the skilled worker, visitor, student, humanitarian and family categories. Sarah has achieved positive outcomes for applications with complex health and character issues and has a background advising both individuals and businesses.
Since returning to New Zealand Sarah has expanded her practice to include relationship property and family court work. Sarah’s experience includes preparing contracting out agreements and advising her clients through their separation and division of their relationship property. Sarah is also the firms go-to person for employment law matters, an area in which her hands-on, pragmatic approach is highly effective in resolving employer/employee issues before they become problems.
Sarah is a current member of The Law Association of New Zealand’s Immigration and Refugee Law Committee. The Committee keeps a watching brief on all issues regarding immigration and refugee law and regularly raises issues with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, Immigration NZ, the Refugee Status Branch, the Immigration Protection Tribunal and the Ministry of Justice.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys going on adventures with her partner and their dog in their campervan (long may she run!).
